The third இலக்கிய வகை type: a word distinctive to one of the regions surrounding the classical Tamil-speaking heartland, understood locally even though it isn't the word used everywhere else.

Classical grammarians noted that Kuttanadu called mother தள்ளை, Kudanadu called father அச்சன், and Sithanadu called a female friend இகுளை - the same relationships, three different regional words.
