The first of the four இலக்கண வகை types: a பெயர்ச்சொல் names an entity. This app follows the traditional 6-way split, by what kind of thing is being named.

A child pointing at things and naming them - மரம், அம்மா, நாய் - is, without knowing it, producing nothing but பெயர்ச்சொல் one word at a time.

மரம் (tree), சென்னை (Chennai), கை (hand), நீலம் (blue), உழுதல் (ploughing) are all பெயர்ச்சொல், each of a different sub-type.
